Secret Service Acting Director Ronald Rowe says, “multiple operational and communications failures” and “complacency” among some employees allowed the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania. U.S. House passes a bill requiring major party presidential nominees to get the same Secret Service protection as a sitting president. The House also passes bills to overturn the EPA’s tailpipe emission rule designed to move away from gas-powered cars and small trucks to cleaner technologies like EV’s and hybrids and to block federal money for undocumented immigrants to cities that do not cooperate with federal immigration authorities, known as sanctuary cities.
